The work of the Governing Body Committees
Resources Committee- Chair Mrs Hannah Eastwood
This committee provides support and challenge in the use of resources and budgets, which allow the very best environment and learning outcomes for both children and staff. The committee holds several statutory responsibilities relating to financial probity and also many relating to HR matters. Governors receive regular reports on budgets and spending from the Bursar and Head Teacher including the best way to allocate Pupil Premium funding, spending on support of pupils with special educational needs, and spending on the upkeep and improvement of the school premises to support the children and staff. Recently the committee has provided support in the recruitment of new staff members and supported the Head Teacher with the new heating system project to ensure minimum disruption and cost to the school. This group also monitors Health & Safety and Behaviour management in school.

Standards and Effectiveness Committee-Chair Mrs Julie Harris
This Committee monitors School Improvement in terms of effective teaching and pupil progress. Governors look at termly summarised data on pupil progress for children of all abilities in every year group, as well as considering trends from annual data when compared with Kirklees and National averages. The committee helps to monitor the effectiveness of all teaching and support - including that funded by Pupil Premium and for children with Special Educational Needs – in helping every child achieve their full potential. Thos group monitors the the progress of the School Improvement Plan in the areas of curriculum development and safeguarding.
