Year 4 at Upperthong.
As part of Lower Key Stage 2, Year 4 is where we continue our adventures through Primary School. Like the older children in school, we take pride in setting a good example and being excellent role models to the children in Key Stage 1.
We look forward to working on some splendid topics during our time in Year 4. For example in the Autumn, we learn about local history and how the Industrial Revolution changed some of the textile industry - impacting people's home and working lives. We continue to develop our sketching, sculpting and painting skills through a variety of artwork linked with our locality and the industry it supported. During this term - we also spend time looking at our digestive system and teeth!
In the Spring we have a geography unit where we can look at volcanoes, including how they are created and the impact they have on the surrounding land and life. Our history this term lets us find out about life during the Roman Empire; we think about the question 'What have the Romans done for us?'
Summer takes us on some impressive 'Journeys', like Titanic and Float, along with a philosophical and mathematical trip to Ancient Greece.
It certainly looks like Year 4 is the place to be!
